Position at Takeover Stage

►  RAILCOP took over the Track Machine Shops on July 1, 2001.

►  Pakistan Railways had six Duomatic Machines, which were all overdue for complete overhauling.

►  Pakistan Railways had three PU Machines of 1982 make, requiring heavy reconditioning.

Steps Taken by RAILCOP

►  RAILCOP inducted Electronics and Mechanical Engineers.

►  Inducted Diploma Holders for quality improvement.

►  Imported genuine spare parts from international manufacturers.

►  Established Laboratory, provided qualified quality control staff, audio/video training facilities.

►  Rehabilitated workshop building, store & civil physical infrastructure.

►  Brought in order a number of machines lying out of order since long.
